Every day there are opportunities to give yourself a fresh look.
But are you finding that these good intentions are still - season after season - leaving you in the same yoga pants and sweat shirt?
Have you tried to get your mojo back, but default to nojo?
Then it may be time to get yourself some professional help. And by professional, I mean a style intervention.
A good stylist doesn't just know about the latest trends and then try to force feed them on you... they learn about your personality, preferences... and may even uncover a few demons that are holding you back... not just in appearance, but, in LIFE!
Honestly. Wearing something pretty to make yourself feel better is short-lived compared to feeling happy, being pretty on the inside and letting your clothing be a reflection of who you are.
I'm no genie in a bottle, BUT, I do happen to know some fantastic stylists who have boatloads of great strategies.
Recently, one of these lovely ladies wrote a wonderful article providing all sorts of ideas around how your attitude or perspective may be preventing you from feeling good (and doing good) around your appearance.
One of the key concepts she addresses is the devil in comparing. There is no faster way to feel crummy than to compare your insides to someone else's outsides. And for some crazy reason, we often tend to evaluate ourselves vs. others when we already feel most vulnerable, which even further intensifies the feelings.
Are you certain that if you had more, better or different like "them" life would be better and you would be happier?
You can think you know how others relationships, family, clothing, skin, style and general lifestyle is so much "better" or "more." But, the reality is... we simply don't know what their truths are. Or what it's like to be them or live in their skin.
What's important is... what is true for YOU?
What's going on in your life? With your body? With relationships? Answering these deeper questions can elevate your mood and style faster (and cheaper) than a shopping spree.
I'm curious what this gets you thinking about? What's one inside thing you could shift that would affect your outside? Really, I hope you'll take a closer look... this is spirit and joy building, my friend.
Now get to it! And remember, I am most definitely in your corner...
