How To Turn Your Wedding Dress From Drab To Fab

On your wedding day, you should feel special and beautiful, and your dress is a big part of making you feel perfect on the first day of your wonderful journey with your partner. However, you don't need to spend a painful amount of money on a fancy wedding dress. You can purchase a simple wedding gown that's within your budget, and get it looking fabulous with just a few accessories and tricks.

Belts

You can find affordable wedding belts in most dress shops or by searching online. Wedding belts are a great way to spruce up your simple wedding dress, and when worn at the waist, are very flattering, drawing in your waistline. Wedding belts look great brides with an hourglass figure, however, if your figure is more boyish, wearing a belt with a large flower or accessory on the front exaggerates your figure making you look most elegant.

Jackets

Wedding jackets can turn a simple dress into a glamorous gown, and work especially well in the colder seasons. The wedding jacket doubles up as a beautiful accessory that keeps you warm at your winter wedding. The great thing about choosing a wedding jacket is that you are not limited to styles, you can make your wedding dress look fabulous in any fashion that suits you. Jackets with puffer shoulders look great on brides with a smaller chest, as it balances out your body. However, jackets come in all shapes, sizes and styles, including sleeved, shoulderless, collared, lace or a poncho.

Veils

The wedding veil can add to your dress a great deal as an additional accessory. Even with a simple dress, a more complicated veil can be pulled off to make your dress elegant and timeless. There are a whole array of styles that you can choose from to suit your dress. All you should make sure is that you get the colours as close as possible. You could wear a long tailed veil for a fabulous feel to your day, or a cutesy short lace piece. Whichever style you choose, you can be confident in the knowledge that your wedding dress will no longer be plain and drab.

However you wish to accessorise your wedding dress, make sure you stick to the same styles and colours, and that your make up, jewellery and shoes are also in keeping. You don't need to spend a small fortune on looking beautiful for your wedding day, so make a few little additions to your simple dress and you can be looking fabulously perfect on your special day.

Which Wedding Venues Would Appeal to You?

Of all the wedding venues in all the world (or at least those near you), which one would be your ideal choice? It's a tough decision to make, but every day couples have to make this exact choice so they can plan the biggest day of their lives.

If you are stuck and unsure which venue you should book, consider the following suggestions.

Would you prefer classic or modern?

There are all kinds of wedding venues today; from centuries old castles to modern venues such as hotels and resorts. This means you'll have a host of superb venues to choose from. It also means, however, that you can narrow down your choices simply by thinking about the type of venue you would like. For some people, the idea of getting married against the dramatic backdrop of a castle would be a dream come true. For others it would be a nightmare, with the potential for draughty surroundings and no mod cons. Which group do you fall into?

A famous venue or somewhere more understated?

Some venues are very famous and well known up and down the country. Others might be well known in your vicinity but not beyond. Still more won't be famous at all, and will simply offer ambient surroundings for your big day.

Sometimes the idea of famous or familiar wedding venues is very appealing. However you may not like the idea of getting married somewhere that is a national icon of some kind. So which would appeal to you - and does your partner agree?

How big should it be?

This is a very important question to answer, and it should perhaps be among the first things you think of. For example, you won't be likely to book a castle if you have a guest list of twenty people. In contrast, choosing a local and very small place would be inappropriate if you know you will have a couple of hundred people attending.

By getting the numbers right early on, you will find it much easier to narrow down the number of wedding venues you could book for your big day. It also helps to have a chat with your other half so you know you are both looking for the same thing. For instance, you might have an aversion to a particular type of property, while your partner doesn't like the idea of another type. You can then cross both types off your list and focus on looking into appropriate ones instead.

As you can see it makes perfect sense to know what you are looking for before you start looking. It might sound obvious, but lots of people just start scouting around for their ideal place without having these elements in place. Make sure you get the process right and choose your ideal event site far more easily.

For His Eyes Only: A Wedding Boudoir Photography of A Dazzling You

Would you dare to surprise your groom with a sneak preview of your zealous side? Why not do it with the most innovative wedding photography trend? Do a wedding boudoir photography of a desirable you.

This is the newest style in wedding picture making. Clue: You are not exactly wearing your bridal gown; instead, you have on some delicate clothing to reflect your sex appeal. Quite daring, but boudoir photography is fast catching up among soon-to-be brides. Is it for you?

Simple Definition of Boudoir photography
Boudoir photography is a new style in picture taking. It is actually a surprise from you to your groom come your wedding day!

The actual photography shows you in your playful and sexy poses, wearing delicate lingerie; or if you so want it, with nothing at all. No, it is not even close to X-rated pics; it is more of "implied exposure". You do not bare your physical assets, you just sort of tease with your poses. You can show a bare back; you can lie on your tummy or show your body profile in artistic positions.

Important Factors to Consider In Boudoir Wedding Photography

1. Plan for your pictorial
Consider cost and time. Your boudoir pictorial takes at least two hours, at times even more, as you have make up and hairstyling, setting up lighting and other props, perhaps even costume changes.

The cost adds more with additional prop setups and rentals, and wardrobe changes. It would be a good idea to include a personal pictorial session in your wedding package, so you have the same wedding photographer to do your boudoir photography.

2. Look for a trusted and professional wedding photographer who offers great options
Choose a photographer you feel comfortable with, while you are doing your pictorial. Some boudoir wedding photography services provide you with possible attire and accessories you can use for your pictorial. This saves you time and effort in thinking about what to wear for the pictorial. Likewise, you could have your pictures arranged in a small album exclusively for your groom's eyes only.

3. Schedule your pictorial
Consider a pictorial, preferably a week or so, before your wedding day. Choose a comfortable place, with natural lighting such as a hotel room, a friend's plush home, a studio or a rented luxurious house. Either way, consult your photographer.

Take note, do not schedule on the day of your wedding as you have a lot on your mind, and your strain would show on your pics.

4. On what to wear
Choose wardrobe that makes you feel desirable and attractive. Mix and match bright colors with white and black tones. Wear fashion accessories like jewelry, beautiful shoes, and show off that engagement ring in your creative poses.

5. Have someone with you
A good friend makes you feel comfortable and confident. Perhaps, some sparkling champagne can help, too.

Think About Boudoir Wedding Photography As...
During your pictorial do try to loosen up a bit and think that you are doing this for the love of your life. This is a special moment captured in real photography that would last a lifetime, and only for his eyes to enjoy.

Fun Facts About Watches

We all know what watches do and what they are used for, but there are tons of interesting little watch facts that many people may not be aware of. Learning about watches can be a fun thing to do before you purchase one, or just a fun way to broaden your general knowledge. Here are some cool facts about watches.

The first way to ever tell time was with the sun dial, which was originally created by the Egyptians.

Waterclocks were the next way of telling time invented, and were generally thought to be more accurate than sundials.

Originally, watches were so big that they were commonly worn around the neck on a chain.

The wristwatch as we know it, was invented in 1868 by Patek Philippe.

Before they were for everyone, wristwatches were originally for women, while men generally used pocket watches.

During World War I, wristwatches became popular with men because it was more convenient to wear it on the wrist during battle. Men were able to tell the time without having to pull out a separate item.

The first water proof watch was invented in 1926

Watches on display and in ads are mostly set to ten minute to two o'clock. This is because it gives it the appearance that it is smiling, encouraging the consumer to feel good when they look at the time piece.

The most expensive watch is the Chopard 201 carat watch. The jewels and diamonds in the watch make it beyond valuable. It includes 443 yellow diamonds, 139 round diamonds, 289 pear shaped diamonds, and 3 heart shaped diamonds. It was sold at an auction for 25 million dollars.

When pocket watches were commonly worn, they only had an hour hand. This made them terribly inaccurate and they would lose several hours as the day went on.

The first digital electronic watch was developed in 1970 by Hamilton Watch Company and Electro-Data.

Swiss watches are considered some of the best around. In order to be considered a swiss watch, there are certain rules that must be met. It must have a swiss movement that was set in its case in Switzerland and created by a manufacturer of Swiss origin.

You may have noticed that some watches contain the word Geneve. This term is a mark of prestige given to time pieces that is given by the Bureau de controle des Montres de Geneva.

The Proper Use of Clip In Hair Extensions

It's a well-known fact that clip in hair extensions can provide a radical change of look without any damage to your existing hair - or thankfully, your purse! When worn correctly, clip-in hair extensions can transform a person's appearance and provide a real confidence boost. However, it is unfortunate that many people do not follow the right procedure when using their extensions. For instance, contrary to popular belief, they should not be worn overnight!

So what is the proper way to use clip in hair extensions? Hair piece experts and regular sellers of hair extensions would recommend including the following key steps in your daily routine:

1) Hair must be freshly washed

It is important to freshly wash your hair before you insert your clip in extensions - otherwise, due to natural oils in the hair, the clips will not secure properly. Furthermore, in order to achieve the best 'blended' look, hair should be free of any haircare product e.g. spray or serum. You can then use any of your regular products after the hair extensions are applied.

2) Back comb the roots of your natural hair

It is important to provide some 'purchase' for the clips - so ensure you back comb your natural hair at the roots. Start at the crown area and work your way down. Remember: do not use any hair product at this stage!

3) Comb clip in extensions from tip to root (not the other way around!)

Lay the clip-in extensions on a flat surface and carefully comb out each weft from the tip to the root. Working upwards to the root will prevent tearing the hair out.

4) Apply the shortest weft at the nape of your neck

Begin with the shortest weft and apply it close to the roots at the nape of your neck. Secure in place. Work upwards, leaving a 2.5 inch gap and apply the next weft. Repeat this with the remaining wefts, leaving the same space each time to ensure even, all over volume and length. The final weft should be applied at the tip of the ear.

5) Refer to manufacturer's guidelines

Clip in extensions can be blow dried, curled or straightened but usually on a cool setting. Do not sleep in your clip in extensions otherwise you might destroy your natural hair follicles as well as causing damage to the extensions themselves. Use specially formulated shampoo and conditioner unless otherwise stated. And always refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for any special precautions.

Understanding PCOS

Knowing an ailment's cause is often the first step towards finding a remedying. But in the case of Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome, it becomes difficult as the exact cause of this disorder is not yet known. However, let's take a quick look at some common conditions that are believed to be associated with it:

Hormonal imbalance:
PCOS is closely linked to the over and under production of some specific hormones. All women produce androgens, the male hormone in small quantities. But when a woman suffers from this condition the ovaries produce this hormone in higher quantities. This increased level of androgen interferes with ovulation (production of eggs in the ovaries) which leads to further imbalance in the female reproductive cycle. Most women affected also have a high level of luteinising hormone; the hormone which stimulates ovulation. Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) is also found to be low in patients; particularly in overweight or obese women.

Insulin resistance:
This is a condition where the body produces excessive amounts of insulin to fight the resistance of the body tissues to insulin. This extra insulin leads to excessive production of androgen, the male hormone. Research shows that many women with this syndrome also have insulin resistance.

Genetics:
Many experts feel that genetics, family history is a common culprit in this increased production of androgen. Research has shown that in many cases PCOS runs in families. So a woman with this malady is likely to have someone in either, or both her mother's or father's family with the same disorder. However, the exact genes responsible for this disorder have not been identified.

The imbalances and irregularities in the body functions of women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome pose some serious health risks. These women are at an increased risk of developing more serious health problems. Though not all women with this condition get these problems, it is important to understand the consequences and take preventive measure wherever possible. Let's talk about some of the more obvious conditions:

Regular menstrual periods help shed the endometrial build up in the uterus of women. Many patients, due to irregularity or inadequacy of menstrual bleeding the endometrial lining is not shed properly leading to excessive buildup. This increases the risk of developing endometrial cancer.

These women are at high risk of developing diabetes. Research has shown that around 40% of women with PCOS develop some form of insulin intolerance or diabetes by the age of 40.

Increased levels of testosterone (one of the androgens) can disturb the lipid profile in patients. This can have adverse effects on the fat levels in the bloodstream and the HDL (good cholesterol) level can decrease while the LDL (bad cholesterol) level can go up. Also, many women with this condition are already suffering from mild to severe obesity. Both these conditions increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Women with PCOS have high levels of testosterone. This condition along with the other associated factors has shown to increase their risk of developing sleep apnea (obstructive breathing while sleeping).

Understanding the conditions and risks associated with PCOS is vital to maintaining the health of a patient with this condition. It is imperative in treating the disorder and can be of help in taking measures to avoid the greater health risks that might develop as a result.
